SUMMARY:ElasticCC: Une histoire d'ingestion
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/305686
UID:elasticcc-2022-305686

URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/305406
UID:elasticcc-2022-305406
DESCRIPTION:Traditionnellement\, les applications Java utilisent souvent

 vec Elasticsearch.
\n

using a GitOps approach. We will also cover our approach of creating Hel

ILM policies\, SLM/snapshots configuration and easy to extend) to ensur

SUMMARY:ElasticCC: The new Elasticsearch Java Client: getting started and
  behind the scenes
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/307005
UID:elasticcc-2022-307005
DESCRIPTION:Elastic has recently released a new Java client for Elasticse
arch\, which is more lightweight than the previous High Level Rest Clien
t while providing a more complete API coverage and an easier to use DSL-
 like experience.
\n
\nThis talk will walk you through a few examples with this new client and
  its query DSL.
\n
\nWe will also give an overview on how it is developped\, being the first
of a new generation of Elasticsearch client libraries based on code gen

 lasticsearch
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/308409
UID:elasticcc-2022-308409
DESCRIPTION:StormCrawler is a popular and mature open-source web crawler.
It is written in Java and is both lightweight and scalable\, thanks to
the distribution layer based on Apache Storm. One of the attractions of
the crawler is that it is extensible and modular\, as well as versatile.
In this presentation\, we will have a closer look at the Elasticsearch
module of StormCrawler and see how it is being used in production by var
ious organizations\, sometimes on a very large scale.

DESCRIPTION:Elasticsearch already offers a lot of aggregations and metric
 s.
\nIn rare cases\, those are not enough.
\nWe can leverage an advanced feature of Elasticsearch and Kibana Vega/Ve

SUMMARY:ElasticCC: Text categorization with Elasticsearch
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/309801
UID:elasticcc-2022-309801
DESCRIPTION:With many text mining applications\, automatic text categoriz
ation is usually implemented with flavors of machine learning algorithms
\, which are trained with an appropriate training set to build the model
. This model contains the statistical data based on training set texts t
hat will later allow the system to match an input document with the corr
 esponding category.
\nBut wait… statistical data on text documents? Doesn’t it remind you of
our dear improved inverted index at the core of Apache Lucene? Maybe we
could consider the index containing the training set documents as our tr
ained model? And maybe a simple query against this index could give us t
he category (or categories) more likely to apply to a given document?
\nIn this talk\, we will demonstrate this approach and show that it can p
erform well and possibly \"for free\,\" as we sure all have Lucene-based
  tools in our application portfolios!

SUMMARY:ElasticCC: The Polyglot Cloud Native Debugger - Integrating Elast
 ic and Continuous Observability
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/306912
UID:elasticcc-2022-306912
DESCRIPTION:All the unit tests in the world\, the largest QA team still c
an’t stop bugs from slithering into production. With a distributed micro
service architecture debugging becomes much harder. Especially across la
nguage & machine boundaries. APMs and logs provide the first steps. But
in these crucial moments we need something more.
\n
\nProduction bugs are the WORST bugs. They got through unit tests\, integ
ration tests\, QA and staging… They are the spores of software engineeri
ng. We cross our fingers and put on the Sherlock Holmes hat hoping that
maybe that bug has somehow made it into the log… When it isn’t there our
only remedy is guesswork of more logging. That in turn bogs performance
for everyone\, makes the logs damn near unreadable. Elastic helps\, but
there are limits on everything. We have no choice other than crossing o
ur fingers and going through CI/CD again and again until we find it.
\n
\nThere are better ways. With continuous observability tools we can follo
w a specific process as it goes through several different microservices
and “step into” as if we were using a local debugger without interruptin
g the server flow. In this session I will demonstrate such an approach a
nd how everything integrates into elastic nicely.

stem tuning\, enabling security analysts to focus their attention on ale

DESCRIPTION:One of the best things about Elasticsearch is its ability to
handle large amounts of data and serve this data with sub-millisecond la

like any purpose-built database\, there are always trade-offs to consid

SUMMARY:ElasticCC: Not Only Kibana: Using PowerBI to Visualize Elasticsea
 rch Data
URL:https://community-conference.elastic.co/session/307921
UID:elasticcc-2022-307921
DESCRIPTION:For most IT professionals\, the Elastic Stack combination is
familiar. Elasticsearch\, the heart of the stack\, plays the role of a s
earch and analytics database\, while Logstash serves the server-side dat
a processing pipeline to ingest data. Then Kibana is used to visualize a
ll this data. But the world is not always about the Elastic Stack. With
the importance of data increasing rapidly in all businesses\, many compa
nies have implemented BI (Business Intelligence) infrastructures to suit
their needs to mature their data analysis. One of the well-known produc
ts in business intelligence is Microsoft Power BI.
\n
\nIn this session\, I will show how the data stored in Elasticsearch can
be visualized using Microsoft Power BI instead of Kibana. One of the ben
efits of this combination is that if you are using Microsoft Power BI as
your BI infrastructure\, you can easily integrate this infrastructure w
ith Elastic data sources and visualize your entire organization's data i
n the form of a centralized dashboard.

DESCRIPTION:We all want to spend more time innovating and less time doing
troubleshooting. But how would this be possible if we have this never-e
nding rate of change and increasing demand to reduce MTTR (Mean Time to
Resolution)? Plus\, the chances are that Kubernetes might have got you d
own more than once at a certain point. Didn't it?
\n
\nIn this session\, we will discuss leveraging an approach called time-tr
aveling topology to address these concerns. This approach helps you visu
alize Elastic environments in a whole new way that grants you the abilit
y to automate root-cause analysis and reduce MTTR while giving you more
 time than ever to innovate.

DESCRIPTION:Elasticsearch
